I've said it before +
I'll say it again... do your engagement sessions in your home! I love seeing
our couples in their own element + the photos always turn out so genuine.
Tahira + Addison did exactly that! They live up in NYC + had Leila Brewster
Photography capture them at their home, as well as their favorite spot in the
city, Ft. Tryon Park. While we're at it, let's hear from Tahira on how their
wedding planning experience has been, so far:
How did you + Addison
meet?
In college. We were both students in the jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. He's a pianist and I am a vocalist. I actually heard Addison play in one of my first classes as a freshman in the program and I turned to my friend with a straight face and said "I'm going to marry that guy." Didn't know his name or anything- his piano playing had me! We met "officially" through friends a year after that and have been together since.
What is the theme/style of your
wedding? What colors?
We are having a vintage meets modern garden party. Lots of greenery with pops of soft peachy orange and heavy gold accents.
Any special traditions or fun
details?
We will be "jumping the broom" at our wedding ceremony! This is a tradition that signified marriage for slaves when they could not legally marry.
What has been your favorite part of
wedding planning, so far?
We're just getting started, but my favorites part thus far has been going thru/booking from Jaclyn's vendor list!
Are you honeymooning? Where?
Don't know yet! We're thinking about Hawaii!!
