A Wedding Planner's Wedding Plans: Post #1

I would like to introduce a brand new feature that we will be doing for the next year called
"A Wedding Planner's Wedding Plans". One of At Last's very own, Amanda LeBlanc, recently got engaged + will happily be sharing all of her Orlando wedding planning experiences with each of you. I hope that all of you brides + grooms out there find her steps very insightful because really... who better to get advice from than a wedding planner in the midst of planning her own wedding!

Enjoy Amanda's first post to kick of this new feature....

As a wedding planner it's hard not to imagine what your big day will be like when the time comes. By the time my lovely fiance Corey proposed I had already envisioned exactly how our wedding was going to be. Of course, I'm incredibly blessed with the benefit of working in the wedding industry. Every weekend I get to work with amazing vendors at beautiful locations + see unique wedding ideas that I could use at my own wedding if I choose. Having the chance to work with possible vendors before deciding who to book is a huge advantage.

The proposal: Corey took me to St. Augustine (one of our favorite cities) for the weekend to celebrate our 3-year anniversary. We stayed at the beautiful Casa Monica Hotel, ate at our favorite restaurants (Harry's, O.C Whites, The Bunnery), + rented a scooter to explore the historic down town area. One of our last adventures of the weekend was visiting the St. Augustine lighthouse + climbing the 219 steps to the top. Once we made it to the top of the lighthouse we took in the amazing view + snapped a few pictures of each other. THen, Corey asked a man to take a picture of us. We posed, the man took the picture, + then Corey got on his knee! Luckily the nice man kept taking pictures! It is such a special memory; Corey really went out of his way to make the whole weekend perfect.

And the wedding planning begins! Corey + I will be getting married next fall. We met in the fall + it is my absolute favorite time of the year. We couldn't think of a better time to have our wedding. The weather will be perfect!

I knew before I was even engaged that I wanted to get married at the Cypress Grove Estate House. Working in the industry has allowed me to see a majority of the wedding venues in Orlando. Cypress Grove has always stuck out to me + since we're having a Southern vintage theme, the venue is perfect!

I'm in the process of meeting + booking vendors now. My main focus at the moment is the photographer, videographer + DJ. Even as a wedding planner, I was discouraged at first because some of the original vendors I wanted were already booked (since my wedding falls in one of the busiest months of the year), but now that I've met with other options I know my wedding is still going to be in great hands. I have some WONDERFUL choices. And of course, having my co-workers from At Last Wedding and Event Design there ensures the planning + wedding day will be flawless!

Until next time!
