A Modern Day Engagement | Lisa + Cameron

Woohoo, it's FRI-YAY! We can't think of a more appropriate day then today to share some super sweet engagement photos of Lisa + Cameron. These two are tying the knot next month + we just can... not.... wait! Miranda Grey Weddings totally rock their photos + Lisa even shares some deets on how she + Cameron  met + how the wedding planning process has been going for them. Let me just start right now by saying I'm ridiculously jealous of their honeymoon destination... South Africa! How amazing!

How did you + your fiancé meet?
Fate has a funny way of bringing you right where you belong. Through a mutual friend Cameron and I met 7 years ago on Valentine’s Day. I had no intention of going anywhere that fateful night. In fact, I was already in my PJ’s ready for bed when my friend persuaded me to go out to Devaney’s, a classy college bar near UCF, with the lure of paying my cover. Being a poor college student, I was in no position to object! The catch was I had to wear all black and be ready in 15 minutes. If you wore black you got a dollar off cover. Side Note- Cameron did not get the wardrobe memo and was the only person in the bar wearing pink.
It didn’t take long before we became inseparable. We hung out everyday and talked every night. It was always just the two of us. Cameron’s friends gave him a tough time thinking he made me up. At a dance, he finally introduced me to one of his fraternity brothers. His response was “Oh, you are real.” Apparently, Cameron was not much of a dater. All that changed because 3 days later, he asked me to be his girlfriend and we have been together ever since.
What is the theme/style/colors of your wedding?
We wanted our wedding theme to represent us and be unique. Our wedding colors are a soft yellow and navy. The theme was a no brainer.  It had to be travel! We both have been bitten by the travel bug so we have had a blast incorporating all our adventures into our wedding. I don’t want to give away all the secrets but there are luggage tags, globes, and postcards. I can’t wait to see it come together. Fun Facts: Our wedding date is the day of our first date way back in 2010!

What has been your favorite part of wedding planning, so far?
As much as I love DIY projects, menu tastings, and writing addresses; the thing I enjoy the most is our pre-marital counseling. It gives us an opportunity to unplug and learn more about each other.

Are you honeymooning? Where?
Of course! We are flying to Johannesburg in South Africa for a week-long safari! Then we will head to Cape Town for a week. We are still planning the details but either way it will be unforgettable!
